Woodsons of Aberdeen Ltd is a family owned and managed business specializing in Marine Electronics since 1945. A Manufacturer and Supplier, for many years, of Radio-Telephones, Talk-Back Systems and Communication Antennas, primarily to the Fishing and Pleasure market, both in the UK and Overseas.
During the 1970's it became apparent that our customers in the fishing industry were asking for a more comprehensive range of wheelhouse equipment to be offered rather than just communication gear. In order to satisfy this demand, we reached agreements with various overseas companies to import, market, instal and service their equipment in the UK. Principle among these companies was Electoacoustic (ELAC) of Kiel, Germany, manufacturer of Sonar, Echo-sounders and other acoustic devices. OKI of Japan, (Radar) and Robertsons of Norway, (Autopilots). Over the years this has allowed us to gain experience in the installation and service of a wide range of specialised equipment. This policy of marketing the best of Marine Electronic Equipment continues today, as seen with our increasing involvement with the Offshore oil industry, we are meeting the demands for data and voice applications. Our expertise includes a range of marine Satellite Tracking Systems for TVRO and VSAT. Our aim for the future is to continue our policy of providing state of the art technology to our customers, backed up by reliable service of equipment, and availability of spare parts.
